RIC Documentation
ReportsInCloud (RIC), available at reportsincloud.com, is a service that complements XFRX and serves as a secure online reports repository.
Use Cases
The idea behind RIC is simple: You upload the reports processed by XFRX to the RIC repository and then you can access then securely via web browser. Common use cases include:
- Desktop-based software is hosted in-house, not accessible from outside. The reports are published to the RIC cloud-based repository and can be easily accessed via https from computers or mobile devices. The user base is synchronized.
- Desktop-based software is hosted in-house, not accessible from outside. The reports are published to an in-house RIC repository accessible via VPN over https from computers or mobile devices. The user base is synchronized.
- Desktop-based or web-based software uses cloud-based or in-house RIC to provide reports repository. Some reports are shared, some are accessible to specific user groups. Reports are executed via scheduler or manually/asynchronously. Users run reports but do not need to wait for the report to finish. Once the report is finished, it will show up inside RIC.
- Reports from multiple systems used within a company are aggregated in a single cloud-based or in-house RIC repository.
- A company publishes reports to a cloud-based RIC repository and shares selected reports with their business partners via "shared links".
- Software vendor has a build in RIC functionality: every organization that purchased their product has a built-in report publishing and access to RIC at https://organization_domain.reportsincloud.com (or, for example, https://organization_domain.vendor_domain.com).
